On Sunday 2nd September
the MGF Register charity run was held in aid of the Parkinson’s
Disease Society. A total of 45 MGFs and TFs turned up in Warwick to
take part.
The convoy set off on the 86 mile run, using some superb country
lanes, and enabling us all to have a little play through the winding
roads. Our first main point of interest was Broadway Tower, where we
took in the fantastic views and had some lunch at the coffee shop.
Once we were all re-fuelled it was time to set off for the final
leg of the run, taking us to Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe. The home
of Lord and Lady Ashcombe and Henry and Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst,
this has been a Royal residence playing host to at least six Kings
and Queens of England. With an exhibition in part of the castle, the
stunning gardens, and the pheasantry and wildfowl area that houses a
collection of 15 rare and endangered species of birds from around
the world, there was something for everyone to see and enjoy.
The day was a huge success, and most importantly a total of £450 was
raised for the PDS.
